My Visit to Leaders Foundation Mission of Liberia
From the moment I stepped onto the campus of Leaders Foundation Mission of Liberia, I was embraced in an atmosphere of joy and diligence. The sight of children, impeccably dressed in their school uniforms, walking to school as the sun rose was a testament to their eagerness and dedication. They arrived at 7:30 am, their faces beaming with anticipation for the day’s learning.
In the classrooms, engagement was not just a word but a visible reality. The students’ eyes were fixed on their teachers, absorbing every word. Their voices were in unison as they recited multiplication tables in a chorus of learning that echoed through the halls. And when they sang, their voices carried throughout the school, harmonizing in a melody that was truly mesmerizing.
The competitive spirit of the school shone brightly during the spelling bee and debates. Boys and girls teamed up, their intellects clashing in a friendly yet fierce battle of wits. It was not just about winning; it was about learning, growing, and respecting each other’s abilities. One of my favorite moments was the academic debate. It showcased a level of critical thinking that was entetaining and enlightening.
Meal times were another highlight of my visit. The school provided nutritious breakfasts and lunches, ensuring that the students’ physical needs were met. It was heartwarming to see the care put into each meal, reflecting the school’s commitment to the well-being of its students.
But perhaps the most striking aspect of my trip was the sense of hope that permeated the school. Each child I met was a new friend, each with their own dreams and aspirations. Surprise, a bright young student, flew my drone like a natural. She loved helping me capture video and photos of the school from above. It was a poignant reminder of the boundless potential that each student holds.
I left Leaders Foundation Mission of Liberia with new friends and a sense of wonder at the miracle of hope this school represents. This school is a beacon of light for the future of Liberia.
